This is the two articles published yesterday in two of our leading newspaper in Western Mindanao, The Philippines. The Zamboanga Times and The Zamboanga Today.

Which featured our 1st Summer Recreation Activity Class for selected children in Putik Community, Zamboanga City, Philippines. This is our 1st summer activity which we want to reach in the future in the poorest of the poor communities in our country.

We also chosen 3 deserving children/students to be our 1st scholars, which we try to shoulder in our own empty pocket to help this children families this coming school year 2008-09.

Thank you Sir Frans...

I just want to tell the world that I am indebted to Sir Frans, for he’s financial support to me, to my family and to the team whom he trusted too much. I can easily email him to thank in private, but I don’t want to sound a redundant fellow and by telling here at my blog, I think its more thank you words I can tell that without Sit Frans and the team from Belgium, I am nothing now.

I learned so much from my bad experience last year and early this year. In my personal life it was really a nightmare with all the sufferings. But, even though I am away from home, the Philippine team makes an amazing job to run the org and having come-up with a lot of projects/programs from their own initiative I am glad that we are moving on.

The Philippines like the rest of 3rd world countries is suffering from rice shortages, whether the government will not acknowledged but the through is ordinary people from the poorest of among the poor is lining-up to buy 3 kilos of rice in almost of the public markets in the Philippines. But, God is great, surprising with all the problems from terrorism, rice shortages, water and electric bills, high price of fuels and so on. Still we are standing tall and telling the world that Filipino is a survival.

With these regard, I myself is an example of bad nightmare in my life last year and early this year. But, here I am back safe and sound with the all the prayers warriors I have in my life, seeing my parents, friends, relatives and those who love me again, it’s a unconditional blessing that I could not ask for me for now.
Again, I would like to take this chance to thanks Mr. Frans Medaer, Project Leader of Message for A Better World, now base in Dilsen Belgium. For all he’s trust, understanding and patience. Sir, God will bless in any other way, but all I can say here is that thank you and don’t you worry, I will treasure the trust you gave me and I will also treasure that words I promise you then? I pray that you will still support the Philippines in spite was happened to me and the team needs you now especially they are doing an amazing job for this summer which I first feature here at my blog site.

They are waiting for you reply and the team here is asking what is going on for the past weeks. But they make a good exit with the summer culmination activity which I help them finance with my own little money that was given to me. We have selected 3 deserving very poor students as the team’s 1st scholarship. I got almost $500 and I also donated and finance the summer graduation mobilization expenses which a blessing in disguise as my arrival in the country before the big day too.

Muchas Gracia's once again Sir Frans, to the Belgian team and most of all to your family!

God will bless us all and I can pay back all the help you gave to me in the future, just hold on my words I will fulfill it as I publish it here and let the world know that I will always treasure my words Sir!!!

Thanks Sir Frans,

Mary

Kite Festival and Graduation Day.

The Kite Festival was included as one of the requirements of the said Summer Class. We have the Kits Festival last May 10th, and the following day we have the graduation ceremony. Was invited, as a guest speaker was Mr. Vicente Arevalo, former Editor-in-Chief of Daily Zamboanga Times, and now Editorial Consultant of the said paper, Mr. Arevalo also a respected leader in the city too.

The pictures below were the summer class activities. You can also see that the situation of the place is very obvious that these children belong to the underprivileged family.

Thanks for all the prayers. The 1st Summer Class was successful...

I want to start my 1st blog with my background to let the future readers know that by writing this blog I can also let the people know that in passion with determination to help our people there is nothing impossible.

I started my volunteering works, when I was still in my primary days back in the village and of course the greatest influence to my passion is my father Nicolas, who until now at 68 is still working for living and the passion the serve people by not being get bored at home then.

Well, after our life in the village of Basilan, our family transferred here in Zamboanga many years pass by still our life didn’t received grace in material way. But we received countless blessing life good health and the intact of our family with values is already a big blessing too.

As my life journeys’ into volunteering world here and abroad, I am unstoppable with my desire to help the underpriviledeged one’s. I have a lot of life bad experiences like work and my personal life. But always accept it as a life’s learning experiences whether good or bad, broken and failed relationship, triumph, blessings, all this I thanks our creator. This gives me the meaning to go on and move forward for the betterment of my little contribution in serving humanity.

Last April 5-May 11th, the group conducted the 1st Summer Recreation Activity Class in chosen community here in Zamboanga City. It was a new background for us volunteers, working without the help of our main headquarters in Belgium. We have hard working volunteers as we have just realized again that through passion in volunteering all financial problems will be left behind and as always the show must go on for 40days.

We have selected 3 deserving students as my 1st scholars for school year 2008-09. The 3 scholars are Amor Rico grade III, Dinalyn Dela Serva grade VI AND Marco Bazan 1st year high school. I told them that if they will maintain their good grades the scholarship would continue till college as long as I can afford them to send to college and if they will in return become a deserving one and be called scholar. This activity was amazingly overwhelmed by the students and parents as 1st time took place in our community. I promise them as long as I am alive and still breathing, I will always serve humanity and through the help of my parents when I was away for how many months because of hardship, I am now back in my community and country.

Prayers is the most primordial stuff in our life and what happened to me a year ago, life must go on and I thank to all those who prayed for my survival.

Presently, we are very happy to serve people and the best is yet to come in the future then.

Mheegay's background...

Grace grew up in one of the remote areas in a far flung community in the Philippines. Despite, the condition of her environment, it gives her the strength to focus on youth development and be part in activities and programs for her to have a representation in future opportunities that rarely happens.Grace inherited her strong interest in volunteering from her father. Who serves their community for more than thirty years, as one of the Christian Leader in a Muslim populous area in Southern Philippines.

Undeniably, it is a veritable fact that Peace is the ultimate dream of every town folks in the community. The varying appropriations of Peace is normally dictated by the difference of their culture and the way they want to preserve and advance them. The Philippines, as a nation of varying cultural communication and ethnic groups, bears the responsibility in protecting, preserving and promoting their identities, culture and tradition so as to be utilized in building a strong nation.

This is what brings all the foregoing together in terms of a huge vision, a clear sense of purpose and sacrifice, and a sensitive understanding of the strength and capacity of the people that she leads.Grace as leader, she sets the tone, shows the example, challenges a people to rise above their own expectation of themselves, and rally around collective aspirations for greatness. As a former youth leader in crisis situation presented the facts honestly, like a mirror that would show us our foibles, but because of such would goad a people towards resolute and inspires common actions. Volunteering, such as community works, medical outreach, advocacy, facilitating, etc. etc. is Grace greatest passions in life.

She has this philosophy: Act in proper motives, proper understanding, proper priorities and proper boundaries!

Muchisimas gracias y via con Dios!:-)
